John Lee Hooker, originally from Mississippi, is one of the most well known and loved of the bluesmen. Something about the way he delivers his music stops you in your tracks and makes you realise you are in the presence of something very real. He is an advocate of blues being about human feeling, music as a form of true expression of the soul.
