ALFOS - A Love From Outer Space - Amsterdam Dance Event 2015

A Love From Outer Space (ALFOS) will be holding a night at ADE 2015 in conjunction with Nein Records and CLUB2CV at Sugar Factory, Lijnbaansgracht 238, Amsterdam on Wednesday 14th October. 

Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnston will be playing the main room back to back for the full 6 hour duration of the night, with Tronik Youth and Jonah Considine from London and 2CV, Pin Up Club and Cowbell Radio's Chinny from Amsterdam playing Room 2.

Kinky Movement is a collective of 3 Djs and producers which has come out of the ever vibrant Nottingham house music scene in the UK. Their sound has progressed in recent years into melodic, chunky almost garage sounding house music of perfect dancefloor fodder.

With quality productions coming out regularly and a distinctive sound to work with, Kinky Movement are moving from strength the strength. Jay Tripwire

Jay Tripwire has been a highly respected underground house music producer and Dj for well over a decade. He creates and plays house and techno music with great rhythm, heavy bass and percussion. Jay's abilities have long been appreciated by UK tech house artists, Djs and labels like Grant Dell with a recent release on Giant Records, Wiggle London, Swag Records and Eddie Richards and his record record label Lunar Tunes. He originated around the time of the US West Coast House movement which saw labels like Tango, Siesta and Big Chief grow out of it.

Bristol's notorious Banjax night has been running for a few years now and has given a turbo boost to Bristol's house and techno scene. 

Banjax has gained a solid following through putting on quality events around the city where upfront house and techno music is always on the menu. 30th August 2015 which is Bank holiday Sunday will see the Banjax crew rocking three venues, their regular haunt Timbuk2 plus a boat party and an event at Projekt on Baldwin Street.

Eddie Richards

Eddie Richards has been a prominent feature of the UK House music scene since its inception in the mid 1980s. Dubbed as the UK's Godfather of House, he has been at the very heart of the UK's Dj, nightclub and House music scene for generations, since the time when nightclubs first started opening in the UK. As an idea of the influence he has had, Eddie was the first person to bring Djs such as Richie Hawtin, Derrick May, Moby, Jeff Mills and Todd Terry to the UK, via the UK's first Dj agency Dy-Na-Mix, which he created. He is also credited as being a main curator of the Tech House sound.

Today, Eddie Richards remains an authority in House music. He continues to work as a cutting edge Dj, producer and label boss whose sound is distinctively underground with a raw, forward looking yet classic feel. Eddie also works with Nathan Coles and Terry Francis to complete the trio of Wiggle residents, the groundbreaking London based Tech House institution where the real Tech House sound originates from.

Eddie Richards has done a fascinating interview with DJ History which is strongly recommended reading. Some very interesting stuff in there, including great info on his career, details about Larry Levan's set up, a story about Pete Tong which.....well.....

The Nick Straker Band - Loft Music

A Little Bit Of Jazz by The Nick Straker Band is a bonafide Loft classic played by David Mancuso at his New York Loft parties which began in the 1970s. Loft parties involved no entry fee, no alcohol, no mirrors, a high end sound system, great music and lots of dancing. They were private parties which helped to lay down the blueprint for nightclub culture, disco and house music. These parties were attended by the likes of Frankie Knuckles, Larry Levan and Tony Humphries and played a massive role in influencing the shape of dance music.

The Nick Straker Band were an English group who mixed disco and jazz influences to create music full of live percussion, synths, funky basslines, repetitive sections and a strong 4/4 beat which shows nicely how disco was evolving into house. They released music in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Job Jobse @ Sleepless Floor - Melt Festival +++ ADE 2015

Quality house mix here from Job Jobse. This is a live recording of his recent set at Sleepless Floor, Melt Festival, which happens in July each year in Ferropolis, Germany. Lots of top quality acts played the festival this year, including techno Dj Alan Fitzpatrick, shoegaze band Ride, deep house maestro David August and junglists Roni Size and Reprazent.

Job Jobse is a Dutch Dj who has come up through Amsterdam's buoyant nightclub scene via Club 11 and a residency at Trouw where he also acted as a bookings manager. Job is currently working a busy touring schedule in Europe and around the globe, playing Into The Woods Festival at Amersfoort and Zeezout Festival in Amsterdam in early September, then on to Amnesia in Ibiza, the UK and USA.

The KLF - Chill Out

For many people, Chill Out by the KLF is part of the soundtrack of their life. Chill Out is one of the all time great ambient albums.

The KLF, who were also known as the Justified Ancients of Mu Mu (The JAMMs) and The Timelords, had a bizarre and colourful period in music during the late 1980s and early 1990s, during which they played a huge role in bringing the sound of house music and dance music to the masses, especially in the UK. Hot Dj set here from OG junglist LTJ Bukem who has put this mixtape together in conjunction with Tom Ravenscroft's show on BBC 6 music as a warmup for Boomtown Fair which is happening this weekend. 

LTJ Bukem has been on the hardcore / jungle / drum n bass scene from the very early days but really established himself as a pioneer of the genre with his Logical Progression mix series and labels Good Looking and Looking Good. He has his own sound which is quite laid back in dnb terms but sugar sweet with jazz influences.

The Crusaders

The Crusaders were a jazz, rock and funk band which began its journey in the 1950s. They were serious musicians who had a lot of fun with their music and released a whole range of great albums and songs, many of which were instrumentals. Possibly their best known record, Street Life, has been remixed by Opolopo who adds a house groove and some very nice bass and keyboard work with what sounds like a Moog

House legends the Masters At Work have just been confirmed for this year's Amsterdam Dance Event, ADE 2015. They will be playing at Warehouse 22, Asterweg 22, Amsterdam on Saturday 17th October, on a Meubel Stukken & FUSE event called O.W.A.P. (Original Warehouse Acid Party) - The ADE Masters Edition.

Corrie is a Dj/producer known for making some top quality tech house music. He has been around since the days of London's Acid House scene and his experience shines in his productions. He likes to keep things underground and his music is played by the likes of Nathan Coles, Terry Francis, Stacey Pullen and Richie Hawtin. Corrie regularly puts out music via his Eat More Beef record label as well as guesting on labels like Wiggle, Blackflag and Household.

You can catch Corrie playing in Germany at Beitola Open Air and Indoor event in Berlin for "16 hours non stop music and happiness" on 14th August 2015, and for Electric Monday at the KitKat Club in Berlin on 31st August

Nice remix here from FlyBoy, fresh out of Italy. Pretty much folk music over a house beat which makes for an interesting listen and has been executed very well here by the young FlyBoy. 

FlyBoy is making a very good name for himself at the moment with a steady flow of remixes and DJ sets coming out which are being very well received by the music hungry masses on soundcloud and Youtube.
